Publishing a periodical regularly requires a great deal of discipline. Co-ordinating the whole
thing is only possible if you have the authority to extract contributions, impose deadlines and
decide on alternatives. Proper planning from the publication date backwards gives you a margin
for flexibility. Stray from the deadlines and publish too late harms the credibility of the
publication (and the people who produce it).
Let's be brutally frank: infant mortality in company publications is terrifying. But it doesn't have to be terminal.
